PROBED is useful for everyone who, even if occasional, is involved in the conceptual design of bed protection subjected to current and waves, for example by teaching (universities), designing (consultants), testing (research institutes) or offshore installation (contractors, oil & gas companies). PROBED is an ideal tool for those who wish to apply the results of the latest research and development and wish to do this quickly and efficiently.

General

PROBED is a user-friendly and flexible program for calculating bed protections and pipe covers subjected to a combination of currents and (non-breaking) waves. This program is the successor to earlier programs like BPP (Bottom Protection Program) and PIPECOVER, both also developed by Deltares. Because PROBED is based on these frequently used programs of the past, there is great confidence in the results, but at the same time PROBED is an improved and user-friendly program, based on the latest design formulae which nowadays are well established. Besides this, it can give the user better insight in the sensitivity of the results to the input parameters.
